Really? That's great; I'd love to see the sheets, if you still have 'em kicking around.
I didn't remember where the couple had their place, but here's what I remembered/guessed: Felix and his sisters (because IIRC, he has more than the one? and is the youngest of the lot) were taught adepts, since their great-grandmother was the first adept in the family. The family, with the exception of the sister who moved away, has a catering company in Edmonton (and at least one chinchilla, Blueberry being an occasional biter). Felix and Sam crossed paths in university (I think Felix was returning, though I don't know what for; I do remember he's a few years older than he looks because his whole family's enjoying decelerated aging) and the kitchen witches were Sam's intro to the OU proper. They remain on good terms; she stops in to visit when she goes home to the Northwest Territories, usually once in the summer and once in the winter... for Folk on the Rocks and for Christmas, respectively.
What I took liberties with: - Sam went in with the kitchen witches, to barter a number of keys for a useful ritual (for sending messages which appear only to the intended recipient, on the first blank piece of paper they handle, or the first blank textbox they open). You remember the cleidomancer I thought about making, the one who had that spell to alert him when a door/lock he'd enchanted was bypassed? - Sam stole got an old, old-fashioned dressmaker's dummy to trade to the power couple, who were looking to acquire one ASAP. Possibly to use in a sort of ward/proxy-flavoured ritual benefiting the mielomancer? (Possibly she's expecting and they're taking all the precautions; possibly it's pretty recent news, which could explain why they'd want something like that as soon as it could come.) A dressmaker's dummy completely covered in brass pins seems like it would be a good principle component for a protective effect. - Later on, Sam will trade a key worth a major charge (thanks, aliens) to the key guy for one more ritual (She's going to get a slightly modified version of Neptune's Awakening, of whatever it is in UA3 that's like "if you don't drown, you get a sig. good going!")

Pff, nothing to be sorry for!
