theibitingman: (deal with it)

poor Brent with his journal hijacked for plots

Namely, the plots of Deena's Bad Day and Meanwhile, In Chicago.

Deena's Bad Day, we discussed a little... in the last post, over plurk, over text, and in-person, so this is my attempt to get everyone on the same page. I'm thinking it would be consisting of the Loathsome Lunchbox invasion, getting Deena, Darnell, and Sam and possibly one or two other individuals introduced to each other, and kinda-sorta allied. It's hard to spend a couple of hours cooperating to chase down little robots without finding yourself on fairly friendly terms (probably).

The aftermath of Deena's Bad Day would/could see Darnell investigating the origin of Lunchbox 0 (a statement which makes so little sense out of context, man) and eventually concluding it came from Chicago... where he should go continue his investigation, despite the fact Sam's warned her favourite checker away from Chicago.

"When you said I should stay out of Chicago... what part?"

That would be the point at which Sam directs Darnell to the Currans, (telling him to tell them she sent him and he's on the level) before showing up herself and passing word to Deena. Like Deena, their business serves as a neutral zone/safe space for the occult underground; since she's a friend of their family, she's willing to bank on their helping... at least to the extent of providing a place to meet up/work out of, and helping Darnell stay out of trouble.

Problem #1: Who is the clockworker responsible for Lunchbox 0?
Problem #2: Anybody volunteering to play the clockworker responsible for Lunchbox 0?
Problem #3, a problem for the characters: What to do with the clockworker responsible for Lunchbox 0? If, of course, he or she is successfully located. and not actually 200 bugs in a human suit, or something

When the clockworker responsible is found, Deena might want to sick her employees on them for ruining the peace of the Court of Miracles Mart. But she is very open to suggestions from the others! Her instinct would be to give them a very stern talking to and maybe do a little teleportation so they can't make this stuff again. Leave her Wal-Mart alone, dang it!

Darnell would prefer to arrest the person(s) responsible, but . . . depending on the situation, he COOOOUUUULLLDDD wind up "not knowing" what happened to the person(s). XD

I have to admit getting them arrested is a pretty tempting option, just because it's almost an Achievement Unlocked! moment to successfully remove a problem from the OU by calling the cops.

That said, Sam may table a few points (depending on how the discussions go) but she'll ultimately defer to Deena because hey, she's the party most troubled by the clockworker's doings, it's primarily her turf, her people, and her livelihood which was endangered.

Deena has a spell that allows her to transfer one bathroom from her WalMart to any WalMart in the world and she might do a prisoner transport that way XD

She can teleport a whole bathroom? O.O

The way I understand the spell, she can swap WalMart bathrooms any time, any where. Handy for hassle free travel! XD

Or, a little more specifically, the contents of any two Wal-Mart bathrooms.

I love martomancy.

That's what it was! Nothing like travelling or shipping things via toilet.

It could always be weirder where UA is concerned, haha!

His bathroom is like an MC Escher print. Kinda like one of his hall/stairways. The one where you aren't supposed to look into the void beyond too long or your eyeballs may melt out of your skull.

This is legitimate canon his life is weird as hell. Clearly he'll fit in just fine.

We'll need to figure out a few more of her employees. iirc we just have the rage mage and rat-witch?

I feel like there might be a little bit of everything there but she for sure has the rage mage in charge of customer service. Best way to get charges is by doing that job!

Re: when did i get so many good icons for Brent

[personal profile] totaleclipseofthemart 2017-11-07 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I can see it, yeah! They either have the wine aunt or the incarnation of Norm from Cheers. Come to think of it, she probably has an iconomancer connected to the store's McDonald's too. Oh, this Wal-Mart.
totaleclipseofthemart: (not-so-serious explaining)

Ronald McDonald. It's an epic level of iconomancy.

I'm actually kinda laughing now bc I just did a thread recently where Stephen was actually commenting on how little mystical trouble actually crops up in Wal-Marts.

Clearly he jinxed it.

Now Deena's just like "You had to say it, didn'tcha?"

HE'S SORRY OKAY. SOMEONE ASKED HIM IF HE'D EVER HAD TROUBLE THERE AND HE SAID NO.

TO BE FAIR

It's still going better than a typical bull session for Sam and Breakdown
